Lancaster County (Pennsylvania) authorities have ruled that the death of child actor Matthew Mindler is a suicide.
Sources from the Lancaster County Forensic Office confirmed Monday to TMZ that the official cause of Mindler’s death at age 19 will be determined by toxicology testing.
Mindler, who appeared in Paul Rudd’s 2011 film Our Idiot Brother, was a student at Millersville University in Pennsylvania.

University officials had confirmed Mindler’s passing on Saturday, saying he was found dead in the nearby town of Manor. They had last seen him on Tuesday and reported him missing the next day.
“It is with a sorrowful heart that I let you know the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a freshman at the University of Millersville,” the statement obtained by TMZ said.
“A search for Matthew has been underway since Thursday, following his disappearance. Matthew was found dead this Saturday morning, August 28, in Manor Township near campus.
According to Millersville University police, freshman Mindler was last seen on campus Tuesday night after attending classes Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday he was reported missing the following night, after not returning to his room and skipping classes.

Police wrote in an Instagram post that Mindler was seen walking from the West Villages residence to the Centennial Driver parking lot around 8:11 p.m. Tuesday.
As can be seen in a screenshot of the security video, the student was wearing a white University of Millersville hooded sweatshirt with black stripes on his arm, a black mask, jeans and dark slippers. He was carrying a black backpack.
Campus police on Thursday unveiled a report of missing persons at the National Crime Information Center.
Mindler’s IMDB page picks up eight acting credits in movies and TV shows, including the short 2013 Frequency, directed by his older brother, cinematographer Derek Mindler.

Her most important role to date was in Our Stupid Brother, which follows the character of Rudd, an idealistic farmer who revolts the lives of his three sisters, played by Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer.
Mindler portrayed Mortimer’s son River.
Midler has not acted since 2016, when he appeared in the TV movie Chad: An American Boy.
Millersville University President Daniel Wubah sent a letter to students about Mindler’s disappearance, WGAL reported.
“Matt’s health and safety are paramount and I know our thoughts are with him, his family and friends,” Wubah wrote in part. “Our police department continues its efforts to locate Matt along with the regional law enforcement agencies. They are following all the leads and thank you for your attention to this effort.
