Ohio State gets a narrow win over Penn State. Three takeaways.

The Big Ten attacked again.

Ohio State came out of the gate on fire Wednesday night and put Penn State on its heels, rising to eleven points in the first half. Somewhere along the way towards the end of the second half, however, the mindset of the Nittany Lions changed, energy and purpose increased and things began to change.

The Buckeyes were never able to fully resolve the pressure Penn State showed and resulted in a narrow 83-79 breakaway after a great road victory against one of Wisconsin’s top ten teams. A win is a win, it’s a win, but it was a battle tonight.

Still, this is arguably the deepest and most talented conference in the country, and if you don’t come to play, any team in the league can make you pay. That almost happened Wednesday night and you can bet the head coach, Chris Holtmann, would rather teach lessons about victory rather than after a defeat.

As we do after each game, here are three takeaways we’ve watched from all the action.
