Ohtani and Upton reach milestones, Angelino wins

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Jared Walsh homered and towed three runs, Justin Upton added his 1000 drive and the Los Angeles Angels cut their three-loss streak with a 10-2 win over the San Diego Padres.

Shohei Ohtani stole the second to become the first player in team history with 40 homers and 20 steals in a season for Los Angeles, who barely won their second game of eight.

Jack Mayfield also connected a two-run fumble for the hosts, who have scored at least 10 runs in their last three wins, and barely nine in total in their last six losses.

Eric Hosmer and Austin Nola hit single tugs in the chamber for the Parents, who missed the opportunity to get into a Cincinnati game in the fight for the second wildcard in the National League, after the Reds lost to Miami. San Diego (69-92) has lost five of six and 13 of 16.

Ryan Weathers (4-7) had trouble on his return to rotation with the Parents and admitted 4:00 hits and three runs in three innings.

Andrew Wantz (1-0) took his first major victory for the Angelinos with an inning and a third of relief work, in which he admitted no hits and poncho to three.
