Olimpia achieves a hard-fought victory over Real de Mines and stays at the top of their group! – Ten

Two games, two wins. Olimpia won again and continues to show its favoritism to be crowned at the Closing Tournament 2021; this time the victim was Real de Mines, whom they beat 2-0 in a rather tricky match.

The meringues had to sweat to be able to impose themselves on a well-planted and tidy mining team on the field, but which were doubled by the quality of the Olympic footballers in specific plays.

In two individual actions, one for a defensive error, the other for the vivacity and great definition of Jerry Bengtson, were the plays that put the tombstone to the aspirations of Real de Mines to take less than a point of the National stadium.

THE GAME

Coach Pedro Troglio made some changes to the lineup he presented on the first date against Real Spain, placing Allan Banegas, Josman Figueroa and Yustin Arbreda as starters.

The formula that has been using Olimpia from the hand of the Argentine coach took a long time, as the lack of ideas, depth and good tactical stop of the visitors prevented the meringue game to flow.

The first dangerous action came until the 18th minute, Olimpia made a good triangulation for Yustin Arbreda to shoot from the left, but the Colombian’s shot was soft in the hands of Julani Archibald.

Two minutes later, at 20, the same gunner had defined the opening goal but was disallowed due to a clear forward position.

There was a time lapse in which neither team brought danger to the areas, disputing the ball mainly in midfield.

After 41 minutes, following yet another great corner, Josman Figueroa knocked the ball to the limit of Julani Archibald’s reach, who just couldn’t put it in the net.

In the complement it was thought that the dynamics would change with the variants of the trainers to look for the triumph, but the rate of game and the few actions of danger stayed.

In the 67th minute, Olimpia received a corner kick that could not be rejected by the mining defense; the ball was left to Jonathan Pau who controlled his chest and on the right scored the first for the hairy.

Three minutes later, in the 70th minute, an overtime with Eddie Hernández’s header put Jerry Bengtson on track to the rival goal and, in the face of Julani Archibald’s departure, the meringue captain defined below in a big way.

In this way, Olimpia remains with the intact goal of the championship, getting six of six in the two days that have been played and remaining in the fight with Motagua for the top of the group in the center zone.
