RELATED: DFW weather: The historic winter storm brings heavy snowfall and dangerously cold temperatures
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – If you have to hit the roads Monday in Dallas, the Department of Public Works has 32 recreational trucks that will run non-stop during Monday night.
They will focus on streets, bridges, slopes and sloping areas of the road that residents will report through 311. Twenty-eight additional trucks are waiting and ready to go if conditions worsen.
If the DART line is your main means of transportation, you will need to find an alternative. For the safety of customers and employees, services will be suspended until Wednesday.

“Frozen switches and frozen passenger doors are the big concern,” spokesman Gordon Shattles said. “If we have to close these things, the last thing we want is a passenger to stay on a platform at that time.”
DART will maintain its bus service, but will operate on Saturday with a service limited to routes 63 and 362. In addition, it will run 14 additional shuttle bus routes.
“We want to make sure people stay warm while they wait for their buses, so we’ve reopened the traffic centers,” Shattles said.
As for air travel, if you have a flight tomorrow, check with your airline in advance to see their status and give yourself extra time to get to the airport.
