According to a report, a coronavirus patient in California has been accused of hitting his hospital roommate with an oxygen tank.
The man committed the brutal attack on a patient at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, a city in Los Angeles County, on Thursday morning, KABC reported.
Neither the suspect nor the victim, who was reported to be in his eighties, has been identified.
The alleged assailant has been charged with murder, with an improvement based on the age of the victim.
The victim died the day after the attack on the hospital’s COVID-19 unit, according to the station.
The two men did not know each other and the motive for the murder is still being investigated.
