One prosecutor says Deshaun Watson forced her to sign an NDA

HOUSTON – Sources shared with KPRC 2 a non-disclosure agreement that Deshaun Watson sent Thursday night to one of its accusers.

Although nothing is filled out on the form, Deshaun Watson’s name is written on the top.

According to court documents, 16 women filed a lawsuit against the Houston Texans quarterback alleging sexual misconduct during the massage sessions he allegedly set up through social media. The allegations range from indecent exposure to inappropriate contact to allegations that Deshaun Watson forced a masseur to have oral sex with him.

“If you’re an A-list celebrity or a famous athlete, there’s no doubt you want to keep your business off social media,” said Brian Wice, KPRC 2 legal analyst, referring to the deal. non-disclosure. “Most people may not think it’s common for someone to sign an NDA when they walk into a massage parlor, but if you’re a famous List A person or a top-notch athlete, you want to make sure that the that you stay out of the 24 hour news cycle “.

But Wice calls the document, according to sources, Watson sent to one of the massage therapists, “amateur hour.”

“With all due respect, it seemed to me that someone just downloaded a standard non-disclosure agreement off the Internet or maybe went to NDAs R ‘Us. Nothing stands out from that NDA,” Wice said.

According to sources, after the masseur returned the form to Watson, he asked Watson for a signed copy of the non-disclosure agreement he had signed. Watson only provided her with a blank document without her or Watson’s signature.

“There’s no law that requires it, but I think as a competent ethical lawyer, you’d like to make sure you have a copy of it. The only exception is that at the end of the day there’s something not entirely kosher. Maybe you don’t want the additional signed copy to circulate, ”he said.

The woman accuses Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct. If this is true, Wice says a non-disclosure agreement will not be maintained.

Announcements

“It’s a matter of Texas law that you can’t induce someone to sign an NDA if the conduct you want to isolate is illegal or unlawful,” Wice said.

KPRC 2 contacted Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, about this non-disclosure agreement. We heard nothing.

In response to the non-disclosure agreement, Rusty Hardin told KPRC 2 that he welcomes all the controversies they will make.

Earlier this week, Hardin said these allegations against Watson are false.
