OPPO’s triple comment phone Galaxy Z Fold 2 causes boredom

Take a look at any of the best Android phones today and you will find a familiar design: the front and back glass pane combined with aluminum or steel mid-frame. But over the past two years, manufacturers like Samsung and Hawaii have seen what’s next for the industry with foldable phones.

Devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 are changing the paradigm for smartphones, and OPPO is set to enter this category next year. We are still waiting for details on what OPPO’s foldable phone will look like, but the Chinese manufacturer has teamed up with Japanese design studio Nento to create a concept phone with a unique triple hinge.

The device fits easily in the palm of your hand when fully closed, and a one-fold slide provides access to a 1.5-inch screen, ideal for receiving calls, viewing incoming notifications or pulling up a music player. To slide up to the secondary fold, you will come to a 3.15-inch screen, which OPPO says is ideal for taking photos or playing casual games.

The exterior housing has four cameras, and the fully extended phone folds into a 7-inch shape factor with a narrow frame. As you can find in the Note 20 series – even a stylus is in its own housing.

This design is seen with an exotic look, and it has a unique science fiction feel, and while it marks the future of phone design, it is unlikely that we will ever get a consumer device with a similar aesthetic. OPPO’s first foldable phone may come with a scroll display, and the device will be introduced early next year.

OPPO showed a wireless earbuds design that incorporated interlock buds, and a charging system that saw wireless buds slip on wireless charging and act like a portable charger cover. Again, it is unlikely that we will see a retail version of these products, but what are your thoughts on OPPO’s design?
