Orlando Magic changes Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls

The Orlando Magic is switching Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls, ESPN sources said Thursday.

The Bulls will be sent to Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr. and two first-round picks in 2021 and 2023 on the Magic, sources told ESPN.

Vucevic, who averages 24.5 points and 11.8 rebounds this season, is a great addition to the Bulls, who continue to chase Lonzo Ball. The Magic is moving toward a rebuild now with an Aaron Gordon deal in turn.

Chicago leadership Arturas Karnisovas, Marc Eversley and Billy Donovan wanted to bring in a productive, serious-minded veteran player to be a cornerstone in the Bulls. They get one with Vucevic, who has been a mainstay with Orlando.

Aminu is averaging 5.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in his second season with the Magic. He has also played for the LA Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers during his 11 seasons in the NBA.

Carter, 21, Duke’s seventh overall pick in 2018, averaged 10.9 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Bulls this season.

Porter will join his third NBA team, having played for the Wizards and Bulls since joining the league in 2013 as the third overall team. The 27-year-old striker is averaging 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds this season for Chicago.
