Sectors in several municipalities have been left without electricity service because energy demand exceeds available generation, LUMA Energy reported.
According to the company, sectors of San Juan, Guaynabo, Mayagüez, Formigueros, San Sebastián, Caguas and Guayama were left without the service “because the electricity demand has exceeded the available generation capacity”.

It was also reported that in Añasco, Arecibo, Coamo, Maricao, Lares, Santa Isabel, Adjuntes and Aguadilla there are sectors without light.
“It is estimated that the maximum demand, which usually happens in the late afternoon and at night, will exceed the generation available at least until Thursday, September 2, 2021, which would cause rotational interruptions during the hours peak demand, “the company said on its website.
