HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Department of Health confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., Feb. 20, that there were 2,818 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 911,591.
There are 2,061 people hospitalized with COVID-19.
Of this number, 441 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
According to officials, most hospitalized patients are 65 years of age or older and most deaths have occurred in patients 65 years of age or older.
The trend of the 14-day moving average of inpatients per day is approximately 3,500 lower than the peak on December 25, 2020.
The current 14-day average is just below what it was at the height of the spring peak on May 3, 2020, officials say.
The percentage of positivity throughout the state during the week of 12 to 18 February stood at 6.5%.

At 11:59 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, there were 90 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, with a total of 23,570 deaths attributed to COVID-19. The COVID-19 data board contains county-specific information and a statewide map.
Distribution of COVID-19 vaccines
Pennsylvania hospitals began receiving shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine the week of December 14th and the COVID-19 Modern vaccine the week of December 21st.
Officials point out that this includes vaccine administration through CVS and Walgreens as part of the Federal Pharmacy Association.
Pennsylvania vaccination numbers do not include Philadelphia, which is its own jurisdiction, or federal facilities, which work directly with the federal government.
A total of 326,850 doses will be allocated this week through February 20:
- This week 183,575 first doses will have been allocated.
- 143,275 seconds will have been allocated this week.
To date, of the 2,766,400 doses assigned as of February 20, we have administered a total of 1,931,557 doses as of February 19:
- First doses, 88% (1,421,115 administered out of 1,610,175 assigned)
- Second dose, 44 percent (510,442 administered of 1,156,225 assigned)
Officials are reminded that masks must be worn by all companies and whenever you leave home. Constant use of masks is essential to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to officials, there are 107,257 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered likely cases and 637 individuals who have a positive serology test and symptoms of COVID-19 or high-risk exposure.
There are 3,815,778,266 people who have given negative results so far.
In licensed nursing and personal care homes, there are 65,992 cases of COVID-19 residents and 12,816 cases among employees, for a total of 78,808 to 1,565 facilities other than 67 counties.
Of the total deaths reported to PA-NEDSS, 12, 223 have occurred in residents from personal care or nursing facilities, according to officials. Here you can find a breakdown of the county.
Officials point out that the number of deaths reported to NEDSS is not exactly the same as COVID-19-related deaths reported by the death registry. The number of deaths among residents and employees of the nursing and personal care home is based on PA-NEDSS death data, as this information is not available in the death registry data.
