Palantir, NRG Energy, Berkshire Hathaway: what to see when the stock market opens today

Stock futures and government bonds rose On Monday, while investors waited for a list of Federal Reserve speakers and data on the manufacturing sector.

Futures tied to the S&P 500 rose 1.2% and Nasdaq-100 contracts rose 1.4%. The broad advance occurred as the yield on 10-year Treasury notes, the cost of benchmark indebtedness in global debt markets, fell to 1.428% from 1.459% Friday. Read our full market version.

What’s going on?

Gains are due of Zoom Video Communications and Switch after closing.

US Manufacturing Index of IHS Markit for February, scheduled for 9:45 am ET, is expected to remain constant at 58.5, with no changes in the preliminary reading. The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index in February at 10 a.m. is expected to reach 58.9 compared to 58.7 a month earlier.

US construction costs for January, scheduled for 10 a.m., it is expected to increase 0.8% over the previous month.
