Comayagua, Honduras.- Aeroméxico becomes the third international airline to confirm that it will offer flights to Palmerola International Airport, located in Comayagua, central area.
For now the airlines that have decided to fly from Palmerola are Spirit, Volaris and Aeroméxico.
“On Monday comes the third low-cost airline and announced that it will operate from Palmerola and is Aeroméxico,” the president confirmed Joan Orlando Hernández.

He also said that there is already a fourth airline interested in arriving at the new airport, which will begin operations in October.
“We are going to be the most competitive country in terms of air ticket prices and that will put Honduras to play in the big leagues of the world,” according to Hernandez.
The president referred to the Toncontín controversy and said that no one is closing it, with the opening of Palmerola scheduled for 43 days.
Until yesterday, work on the air terminal is advancing by more than 90%. Currently the works focus on the installation of ceramics on the floor, placement of furniture, cables for lighting and internal sound in the terminal.

In addition to the installation of the five machines per inspection point, the two machines category 3 for luggage and four for cargo terminal, full-body scanners and surveillance cameras.
It will have 34 immigration and emigration control posts, five passenger security control lines and more than 10,000 square meters of shopping areas for 46 premises. It will also have a space to boost local entrepreneurs.
The construction of the control tower and the signaling of the platform area and the runway to adapt it to civil flights is also progressing.
The innovative terminal will have seven sleeves and 13 boarding gates that will allow it to serve up to 13 aircraft at the same time.

Yesterday Friday, leaders of the lustrabotas, taxi drivers, staff of multiple services, trunks, among others that work in the airport Toncontín of Tegucigalpa, realized a route by the airport terminal of Comayagua, to know the spaces where they go to relocate.
It should be mentioned that the Honduran Institute of Land Transport (IHTT), is the one who will grant the permits to taxis and buses that will offer the service from Palmerola.
