Parler CEO John Matze is hiding behind death threats

The CEO of Parler, the conservative social media app and his family have been hiding due to death threats and harassment, according to a new court file.

Documents, obtained by Fox News, show that John Matze and his family have been attacked by people who posted their home and threatened to enter the front door.

Parler, who is a favorite of Trump supporters, was ripped off the platforms by Apple and Google after the Capitol riots and Amazon withdrew him from its cloud hosting service, Amazon Web Services.

In response, Parler filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon. Amazon responded, saying Parler’s lawsuit had no valid legal basis and claimed Amazon employees had been threatened and harassed, Fox News reported.

Parler’s attorneys acknowledged some of Amazon’s claims in court documents, but said they weren’t just Amazon employees.

“While AWS’ motion to seal focuses only on its own employees, Parler employees have been harassed and threatened in the same way, ”the file said. “Parler CEO John Matze, Jr. reports in his statement in support of Parler’s TRO motion that many Parler employees suffer harassment and hostility, fear for their safety and that of their families, and in some cases, have fled their state of origin to escape persecution.

“Matze himself, while the CEO of AWS continues to complain, has had to leave his home and hide with his family after receiving death threats and invasive personal security breaches,” he continued. file.

Matze described his situation on Fox News last week.

“There’s a group called UGNazi that is targeted at me,” Matze said, referring to hackers who posted many of their passwords and personal information online. “They posted my mailing address, they threatened to enter through the front door.”

Matze said he was worried enough about hiding with his family and not sure when he will return home. But he said there was a silver lining on his situation.

“It probably leveled me off,” Matze said. “If I was at home right now, I think my stress levels would have been three times higher … at least there’s that saving grace.”
