At work we’ve all had small slips and for the most part, things work well.
But Pat Sajak, the host of the game show and his name, should have held his breath after his insertion during a recent episode Wheel of fortune.
During a bonus round on the famous game show, the contestant had 6 of the 12 cards to work on.
When the final letter, the letter “A,” was revealed, Sajak could be heard breathing hard off the screen while the contestant looked discouraged.
Sajak replied:
“Yikes. Well, I’d rather be here than there, frankly.”
Just wait. Did Pat Sajak say “frankly”?
Yes, he did, which was also the answer to the question.

Fortunately for Sajak, the contestant did not catch what he said and used the answer. But alas, for the contestant, he didn’t quite find out for himself either.
Sajak later confided that he had said the answer accidentally and that he had not wanted to help the contestant in any way about other contestants.
But true to Sajak’s form, he also used the moment as an opportunity to joke about himself.
“Jo [realized what I said] right after saying that. ”
“I wonder how many people in the house caught him.”
“But you know, when I set up the thing, there weren’t that many letters up there, so I said, ‘I’d rather be here than there, frankly,’ which was the puzzle!”
Sajak wrote:
“But it’ll just show you that people are concentrating and don’t pay any attention to me.”
“And you know, he didn’t get it. And there was no reason why he should just rely on it. But it’s funny what your mind, your brain, what your mouth will say and what your brain says : “You shouldn’t ‘don’t!'”

It’s always disappointing when a contestant doesn’t understand an answer, especially when home viewers have. But it’s probably best for Sajak, as skeptics at home may have wondered if he was trying to help a contestant.
But it just shows that we all have our moments and the best we can do, frankly, is to find a way to laugh at it or see a silver lining on it.
