Patrice Evra has scooped up Liverpool fans for lack of “class and respect” as the former Manchester United man shared a letter from the Merseyside club apologizing for Luis Suarez’s 2011 incident.
The Uruguayan striker was banned for eight games and fined £ 40,000 for using the word “bold” against Evra during a Premier League match between Liverpool and United at Anfield in 2011.

The letter stated: “The reason for my correspondence is simple and necessary, we apologize. We failed to apologize much earlier and that is a mistake we have to take care of.
“As a club, we did not meet our own high standards of inclusiveness, equality and fairness when faced with your serious but fully justified accusations of eight years ago. This is a matter of collective grief.

Liverpool wore shirts in support of Suarez later that year after Evra made allegations of racism.
“I hope subsequent events have shown that we have learned lessons from the period in question. As painful as those lessons were, they were also absolutely necessary and I want to assure you that we will continue to consider them in the future.
Evra revealed in January 2020 that Moore and Liverpool had apologized to him for the whole scandal after his 2019 appearance on Monday Night Football.
