Pop star pedophile Gary Glitter has obtained the COVID-19 vaccine, ahead of his victims and the prison staff who protect him, according to a report.
The 76-year-old sex offender, Paul Gadd, was among a large number of perverted elderly people who were stabbed last week in a British prison where he is serving 16 years for abusing three girls, said The Sun.
UK government officials insisted in the newspaper that inmates “are vaccinated at the same time as the general public” and are not prioritized.
But David Spencer, of the Center for Crime Prevention, said he was demonstrating that the system “needs an urgent rethink.”
“There are a lot of key workers and vulnerable people who have yet to be hit. It is wrong to distinguish the criminals in front of them, “he told The Sun.
A source told The Sun that convicted sex offenders were many of the first to receive the shooting because many of them are elderly people. Due to their early age, victims are likely to get the same protection among the latter.
“You have some prisons where there is a significant group of elderly sex offenders between the 70s and 80s,” the source said.
“Because of their age, they will get the vaccine first.
“But if you’re a prison officer who takes care of Glitter and you haven’t had a punch, you won’t be happy,” the source said.
Glitter was vaccinated in Dorset Prison, The Verne, which is called “Luxury Alcatraz” because of its setting on the island and its welcoming conditions, The Sun said.
He has been imprisoned since 2015 for abusing three young people: his third prison sentence for pedophile crimes.
He was first jailed in 1999 for downloading child abuse images and again in 2006 for assaulting two 11- and 12-year-old girls.
A government spokesman insisted to The Sun that the prisoners receive the punch “in line with the priority groups set by the Independent Joint Vaccination and Immunization Committee”.
