Former Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and his model girlfriend, Tania Ruiz, reappeared together discreetly at a wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, according to local media and a wedding guest and “influencer” who shared images in which the former president is seen at the event.
“The former guest president is none other than Mexico,” Camus García Caballero wrote on social media about a video in which several businessmen appear around a table, including Peña Nieto (2012- 2018).
First Camus García published the video announcing the presence of the former president and bringing the image to his face, then share a selfie in which they both appear smiling and posing.
The person who shared the images is the bride’s brother, Marcela García Caballero, former queen of the Carnival of Barranquilla and spokeswoman and director of public relations for the company Rappi in Colombia and Mexico.
The model married a businessman she would have met Peña Nieto in Mexico years ago.
The wedding, which was largely aired on Instagram, was postponed several times due to the covid-19 pandemic and the part of the bride’s sister, as they shared on social media.
Since Peña Nieto ended her presidential term, she has kept a low profile with few appearances on social media and in public, but she got in the spotlight when actress Angélica Rivera made public that they would break up.
In March 2019 the former president appeared for the first time in public with Ruiz, at a wedding held in Acapulco, according to images from the pink magazine HELLO !.
The photographs showed the former president, who had recently separated from Rivera, alongside 31-year-old model Tania Ruiz, with whom he had been in contact for months.
In addition, the model released in November 2020 an image of the hands of both hinting that they were already engaged.
For her 54th birthday, in July 2020, Peña Nieto received some beautiful words from her girlfriend on social media.
This was a difficult time for Peña Nieto due to the tension generated by the return of Emilio Lozoya, former director of Pemex accused of corruption, who came to Mexico from Spain to be tried for alleged fraud committed during the previous government.
Lozoya has reportedly pointed to figures such as Peña Nieto, who was Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Finance of Mexico Luis Videgaray and also former President Felipe Calderon (2006-2012), in the first signed statement that the former official Spain on the case.
