Penguins activate Sidney Crosby from the list of absences related to the COVID protocol

Pittsburgh Penguins have activated Sidney Crosby from the list of absences related to the COVID protocol and have recalled Anthony Angello i Josh Currie of the taxi staff, CEO Ron Hextall announced today.

Assistant coach Todd Reirden has approved the COVID protocol and is allowed to return to his regular duties tonight at the PPG Paints Arena.

Crosby, 33, is tied as the team leader in goals (7), assists (11) and points (19) in 20 games. Enter tonight’s game with more points against Philadelphia (107 points in 72 games) than any active NHL player.

Angello, 24, has played in three games in Pittsburgh this season. In 11 career NHL games, he has achieved a goal. Born in Albany, New York, Angello has skated in two games with Wilkes-Barre / Scranton this season, where he has scored one goal, one assist and two points. In 117 career games in the AHL, all with WBS, Angello has 56 points (33G-23A).

Currie, 28, debuted Tuesday against the Penguins against Philadelphia, skating 7:24 minutes. He has played in 22 NHL games, scoring two goals, three assists for five points and a plus-2.
