Jairam Ramesh said RSS-related magazine piece on Infosys attacks Narayana Murthy
New Delhi:
The “personalized attack” of an RSS-linked newspaper not only against Infosys Ltd but also on “some of its esteemed founders” for technical problems in the management of India’s tax portals is “absolutely reprehensible,” he said. today on NDTV Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
Panchjanya’s piece, a newspaper deeply rooted in BJP ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), questioned whether an “anti-national” conspiracy could be behind the problems of Infosys-run tax filing websites.
“This whole issue is unprecedented, unjustified and atrocious. Whatever the problem that the Ministry of Finance may have with Infosys on the GST platform or the income tax platform, is to resolve between the Ministry of Finance and Infosys, ”Ramesh said. “But for an RSS post to resort to a personalized attack not only against the company, but also against some of the company’s most beloved founders, I think is absolutely reprehensible,” Ramesh told NDTV today.
“In fact, the article is anti-national,” the congressional leader said. “I find it personally degrading to see Narayana Murthy being attacked the way he was attacked. If I were to name who the three or four creators of modern, enterprising India are, Narayana Murthy would be among the first … accused of supporting to the naxalites, the tukde-tukde gang, to the left liberals, this is completely false. But this is the same on the course when it comes to RSS or BJP, “Ramesh said.
In the latest issue of the magazine, a four-page cover story about the Bengaluru-based company founded by Narayana Murthy asked if “anti-national power is trying to harm India’s economic interests through it.” RSS has distanced itself from the piece. Its spokesman, Sunil Ambekar, tweeted that the opinions expressed in the piece are not of the organization, but of those of the author.
As an Indian company, Infosys has made a key contribution to the country’s progress. There may be some issues with a portal managed by Infosys, but the article published by Panchjanya in this context only reflects the individual opinion of the author. @editorvskbharat

“This is typical of RSS. Why did they allow the article to appear? It’s a four-page article, a custom article that has appeared in your mouth. I’m afraid the RSS defense doesn’t contain water.” Ramesh said hours after the RSS spokesman tweeted that Panchjanya is not his spokesman.
Panchjanya editor Hitesh Shankar said the publication “stands firm” with the report.
3) Some items mention RSS in this episode due to vested interests. Remember that this report is not related to the Sangh, but is about Infosys. These are facts and facts relating to the incompetence of the company.#Infosys@epanchjanya@editorvskbharatpic.twitter.com/hNGU2HYVgO

Last month, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in a meeting with Infosys CEO Salil Parekh, expressed “deep disappointment” at the persistent problems of the new income tax portal created by the company and gave him until September 15 to solve all the problems.
“The attack on the RSS post after a similar attack on Tata by a person like Piyush Goyal, who is Minister of Industry and Trade, shows that the relationship between this government and industry is a relationship between this government and a few It’s not a healthy relationship between government and business, ”Ramesh told NDTV.
