Peter O´Brien dshot 2 home runs and towed six laps to lead the Eastern Bulls’ 9-1 victory over the Eagles Cibaeñas, in the first game of the B semifinal series held on Saturday, January 2, in the Cibao stadium, corresponding to the playoffs of the Dominican autumn-winter baseball championship 2020-2021.
O’Brien started the new year with an explosive offensive for the Bulls by shooting a two-run home run in the third inning, a single tug of one in the fifth and his second four-yard touchdown in the seventh, with two companions on board. The reinforcement of Cuban origin went from 3-3, with three scored, 6 driven and a base for balls.
In this way, the Romanians beat first the cibaeños, in the agreed series to the best one of seven parties.
The winner will compete with the winner of the Serie-A, between Cibao Giants and Oriental Stars, the BHD-León Cup and the representation in the Caribbean Series, in the tournament dedicated to the memory of José Manuel Fernández. The second commitment of this semifinal series will be held this Sunday, in La Romana, from 5:00 pm.
