PewDiePie announces a “big change” on its YouTube channel

PewDiePie has announced a big change to its YouTube channel, inspired by characters like Corpse Husband, Dream and a growing trend among popular Twitch and YouTube streamers. After a two-week hiatus on YouTube, the platform’s most popular content creator is back. At the end of his return, the king of YouTube caused a “great revelation.” Following this joke, PewDiePie today released a new YouTube video titled “I’m back with a huge ad.” And, as expected, the video is already on trend and has about two million views. Sure, every load of PewDiePie gets a wild engagement, but this video in particular is drawing extra attention for the aforementioned ad.

For those who haven’t seen the video, PewDiePie pulls out a page from the gamebook of Dream, Corpse Husband, Pokimane and other streamers and YouTubers and will now hide their identity behind an avatar. According to PewDiePie, he gets rid of the camera facing himself and makes the “reverse face revelation” to stay relevant.

“I’ve realized that the only way to stay relevant right now … you need to do that,” PewDiePie said, joking clearly. “Husband corpse … no facial camera, no face revealed, popularly popular. Dream … no facial camera, no revealed face, popularly popular. “

At this time, YouTuber has not decided on a final avatar, but for most of the video he has used a temporary one or, more specifically, the following avatar:

For now, it remains to be seen to what extent this change will be permanent. In the video, PewDiePie asks fans for help in finding and choosing an avatar, suggesting at the very least that the previous avatar won’t exist for long. Again, though, it’s hard to calculate how long PewDiePie will hold this. In the video, he clearly jokes and maybe teases the trend, but it also looks like he will keep the avatar for at least a while.
