GRAFTON – Grafton police have arrested pharmacist Aurora Health Care who intentionally damaged more than 500 doses of the Modern coronavirus vaccine on Thursday, officials said.
He has been arrested on a first-degree basis for recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug and criminal damage to property. He is currently being held in the Ozaukee County Jail. At this point, the pharmacist’s identity is withheld.
The value of the damaged vaccines is estimated to range from $ 8,000 to $ 11,000, according to police.
Grafton police said the pharmacist “knew that damaged vaccines would be useless and that people who received them would think they had been vaccinated against the virus when in fact they were not.”
Last week, an employee of Advocate Aurora Health intentionally removed 57 vials of the Modern vaccine from the refrigerator. He damaged more than 500 doses of the vaccine.
On Thursday, the president of the Aurora Health Care medical group said that in fact, 57 people received the vaccine after leaving it out for longer than appropriate. The president said there is no harm to health if the pampered vaccine is obtained. He added that it was ineffective or ineffective. He said Moderna also confirmed it.
No reason is known why the pharmacist did this.
Officials said no other vaccines were handled.
