(WDBJ) – Both Pittsylvania-Danville and Southside health districts are expanding their access to the COVID-19 vaccine for phase 1b recipients.

Previously, both health districts received fewer vaccine supplies than originally expected, making doses only available to police / fire / damage, K-12 daycare / school staff, at-risk populations, and adults 65 years of age. years or more. An increase in supply was delivered, opening up the possibility of extending the eligibility of phase 1b.
“Now that we can contact more of our residents on the pre-registration list to schedule appointments, be sure to answer your phone and check your email,” added the director of both health districts, Dr. Scott Spillmann.
Dating is scheduled to begin as early as this week.
