Ecuador fell to a minimum against Uruguay at the Segle Champion Stadium for a new day of South American qualifiers heading to Qatar 2022. After a good match of ‘La Tri’, the locals opened the scoreboard in the final minutes and took the victory.
In the 71st minute of the second half there was a controversial play after a foul by Uruguayan center José María Giménez on the tricolor striker Michael Estrada inside the area. The central referee did not rule on a penalty or go to the VAR to review the play.
After the engagement, an image of the Ecuadorian striker’s thigh went viral on social media where you can clearly see the mark left by the Uruguayan power plant’s shoe.
