Pierluisi will allocate more than $ 5 million for financial assistance to families in poverty

Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia announced today that he will allocate more than $ 5 million for a pilot program of financial assistance to families on the Island.

In the middle of his status message, the governor said a minimum of 500 families they would benefit.

As he explained, the program would be implemented with a view to “fighting poverty in Puerto Rico.”

“The program will go hand in hand with decent housing, job training and community support programs,” he added.

In the other hand, Pierluisi he stated that he will support other social impact projects, such as those run by the Boys and Girls Club in Puerto Rico.

“Everyone on our Island deserves more and together we will give a hand to those who need it most,” he pointed out.
