Piers Morgan doubles Meghan Markle’s comments

Piers Morgan on Wednesday doubled his comments about Meghan Markle that sparked her departure from “Good Morning Britain” as she exploited the Duchess of Sussex for her “despicable” Oprah interview.

Morgan, 55, reiterated that he still does not believe Markle, 39, was genuine in the special revelation in which he revealed his mental health struggles behind the palace walls, Sun reported.

“I don’t think almost anything comes out of his mouth and I think the damage he has done to the British monarchy and the queen at a time when Prince Philip is in hospital is huge and downright despicable,” Morgan told journalists from outside his home in London.

The famous host said he left his TV show on Tuesday morning after holding a “good chat” with the ITV network.

“I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion,” the Frank anchor added. “If people want to believe Meghan Markle, it’s entirely her right.”

“If I have to fall on my sword for having expressed a sincere opinion about Meghan Markle and that bilge diatribe she came out with in that interview, so be it,” he continued.

“I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear several times on this show and I understand you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and it cut you off, ”said her roommate, Alex Beresford.

“Did he say anything about you after cutting you? He has the right to cut you if he wants. And yet, keep sweeping it. ”

As for Morgan’s resignation, the channel said in a statement that it “has now decided it is time to leave Good Morning Britain” after spending six years on the show.
