Hours after falling from the storm Good morning Britain Piers Morgan has left the show, ITV said Tuesday, in the middle of her fashion dress for the interview between Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey.
“After discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided that now is the time to leave Good morning Britain“ said the British network in a concise statement. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing else to add.”
On Tuesday earlier, Morgan had left the British morning show when his roommate, Alex Beresford, called him over his relentless bin of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
In particular, Beresford caused Morgan’s apparent disappointment that Markle would stop contacting him when he began dating Prince Harry.
“I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle,” Beresford said. “You’ve made it so clear several times on this show and I understand you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she interrupted you. Did she say anything about you after cutting you? She’s entitled to cut you if she wants to. And, no however, keep sweeping it. ”
While Morgan put on a great show to leave the set during the morning live broadcast, Beresford described his actions as “pathetic” and “absolutely diabolical.”
Morgan’s co-star hinted at statements the former CNN host had made in the past about how Markle began dating Prince Harry shortly after the actress went out for a drink with Morgan, suggesting that this was the basis of Morgan’s animosity. In an interview on a 2018 talk show, Morgan lamented that the future Duchess of Sussex had “ghosted” him even though they had “behaved brilliantly.”
Morgan’s relentless vitriol campaign against Markle — which has spread to both sides of the Atlantic — has included him questioning the duchess’s claims that she experienced a suicidal idea and that the “royal aid institution ”He refused to help her.
“Who did you go to? What did they tell you? I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word you said, Meghan Markle, ”Morgan exclaimed in Monday’s edition Good morning Britain. “I wouldn’t believe it if you read me a weather report.”
These comments, in particular, have been the subject of fire by British television regulator Ofcom, which has launched an investigation into the program under its “damage and offense” rule after receiving tens of thousands of complaints about the program after Morgan’s statements.
