Honduran security forces confiscate this Wednesday about 1,400 kilos of cocaine in an anti-drug operation in the Caribbean country and arrested seven Hondurans, Alleged crew members of a vessel carrying the road, Reported a military source.
The operation took place today “30 nautical miles, southeast of (the island of) Guanaja,” in the Bay Islands department of the Caribbean, where elements of the Armed Forces and the Naval Force intercepted the vessel, of name Kabu Payaska, Told reporters the spokesman for the military institution, Jose Coello.
The detainees are six Hondurans and one Colombian: John Seco Lonzo Leavy (39), of seafaring trade, originating in and residing in Coxen Hole, Roatan, Allan Fernando Izaguirrez Chávez (28), Of marine trade, native of San Pedro Sula and resident in La Ceiba, Atlántida; Ricardo Arturo Well Guerra (41), Marí, native of Francisco Morazán and resident in Santa Rosa de Copán; Beddly Jaume Rodriguez Vila (44), Marine, native and resident in Barranquilla, Colombia; Jimmie Dane Johnson Jones (55), Captain, resident at Frensh Charwuer, Bay Islands; Roger Quilani Hernandez Turcios (40), Olier, originally from Guanaja and resident in Roatan; José Donai Díaz (48), Originally from Saba, Colom, and resident in Guanaja.
The Honduran-flagged vessel was inspected by a team of combat divers, who found “so far 65 bundles, (with) approximately 1,400 kilos of cocaine,” he noted.
Authorities captured seven unidentified Honduran crew members, all of whom will be placed under the orders of judicial authorities, who will be charged with drug trafficking, he added.
The operation also involved teams of dogs from the Military Police of Public Order, the Naval Force, the Directorate of the Merchant Navy, the Directorate for the Fight Against Drug Trafficking and the Directorate for Organized Crime.
The ship, the illicit substance and the seven confiscated were taken to a naval base in Port Castilla, in the Caribbean country, the spokesman for the Honduran Armed Forces said.
Mario Molina, Director of the Anti-Drug Police, has stated that “the inspection carried out today at the dock resulted in the discovery of a false bottom where there were white sacks containing cocaine hydrochloride.”

“The boat is Honduran and was intercepted by elements of the Merchant Navy and with the support of the Naval Force when it was heading to the Bay Islands,” said Commissioner Molina.
The vessel was secured during an operation as part of the land, sea and air shield that Honduran authorities launched in 2014 to reduce drug trafficking from South America.

The maritime shield has the support of the United States through a coastguard in international waters adjacent to those of the Central American nation in the Caribbean, while the air is executed by Honduras unilaterally.
Agents of the National Police, the Military Police of Public Order and other institutions develop the land shield.
