The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) announced this Thursday that the first phase of the General Plenary led by the Organizing Committee of the IX Ordinary Congress “José Joaquín Balaguer Bidó Medina” se will be held virtually for the incidence of Coronavirus in the country.
This plenary will take place through the platform Blackboard that will be led by a specialized team that will provide technical support to the transmission.
This first stage will feature seven virtual rooms and a document management platform with facilities to deliberate and conclude with the approval of the proposals of the “13 thematic areas as well as the national and international political line”.
The measure was taken due to the provisions of Presidential Decree 698-20 which states that “meetings of groups of more than 10 people in public places and private places of public use are prohibited in the national territory” to prevent the spread of new Coronavirus.
This was reported by the director of communications of this political entity, Hector Olive by means of a press conference held at the PLD.
This plenary was scheduled to be held this Saturday, December 19 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center where less was expected. 2,300 official delegates and another 300 from abroad. These will be presented through the digital platform.
The second phase is expected to continue in January.
