A game that deserves a little more love is the Switch, the Wii U and the arcade title developed by Bandai Namco, Pokkén Tournament.
It was well received on all three occasions, but since then fans of this unique fighter have wondered if there will be future follow-ups. Twitter follower of Katsuhiro Harada (the director of Tekken 7 and a Pokkén producer) asked the industry icon if he would be willing to return for a sequel.
While Harada would definitely like it, as usual, it’s another situation that’s out of the real developer’s control (in this case, Bandai Namco). As stated below, it ultimately depends on Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. On a more promising note, Bandai Namco obviously maintains a good – if not great – relationship with both parties.
What Nintendo has been doing most recently, in relation to Pokkén Tournament, is offering a test to Switch Online subscribers in July last year. With the 25th anniversary of Pokémon taking place next month, who knows what might happen.
As for Harada, earlier this month, he hinted that his new game with Bandai Namco was possibly the most expensive project the Japanese publisher has given the green light to, and that it might not even be a fighting game. .
