Police: A missing man had 300 e-mail reminder cards in California

California police are investigating a man who reportedly had more than 300 unopened ballot papers for the next government withdrawal election in his possession when he was found disassembled in his car.

Sergeant of the Torrance Police Department. signal Ponegalek told KABC, a branch of the ABC, this week that officers responded to an Aug. 16 call from a man sleeping in his vehicle in front of a 7-Eleven.

Ponegalek said police found a loaded firearm, drugs and stolen mail that included more than 300 ballot papers in the back seat of his car.

The city’s registry office said the ballots had been sent for next month’s withdrawal election, but had not been filled out or returned by voters, KABC reported.

“Electoral votes were not manipulated, they were not opened, just over 300 of them were found, mostly from Lawndale’s addresses,” Ponegalek told KABC.

Replacement ballots will be mailed to these people, police said.

Police later said the department’s special investigations division, the Los Angeles County District Attorney Public Integrity Unit and U.S. Postal Service.

Police did not disclose the name of the man, who was arrested on charges related to the possession violations of weapons and narcotics and counterfeits, The Associated Press reported.
