The Commissioner for Negotiation of the Police, Colonel Antonio López Figueroa, said that the Uniformada is currently in the residential Luis Llorens Torres in San Juan trying to find those responsible for a shooting that killed three policies.
Lopez Figueroa said in an interview with Playing Ball While they are “trying to locate the individual who was involved in the death of fellow police officers.”
“It’s a very sad day for Puerto Rico,” the commissioner continued. “The cops were doing their job.”
It was at this residential where authorities found the vehicle abandoned from where the occupants began firing at police officers.
This was described as a Hyundai Accent model, white in 2003.
The colonel called on the public and the residents of Llorens Torres to give information that will help find “the people who committed this vile act. Let them help us and cooperate with us.”
On the other hand, the commissioner also assured that the FBI and other federal authorities are collaborating to clarify the facts.
Earlier, the secretary of the Department of Public Security (DSP), Alexis Torres, assured that it will lead to the last consequences, to “the person responsible” for causing the death of the agents.
“In the people of Puerto Rico, I reiterate my commitment to investigate these facts and bring the responsible person to the ultimate consequences,” Torres said in written statements on the DSP’s Facebook account.
