Police Negotiating Commissioner Antonio López Figueroa has reported that agents from the Yabucoa Maritime Unit, United Nations Rapid Action Forces (FURA) Negotiation, confiscated a millionaire shipment of cocaine, described as the largest in the moment, in the sector the Black, of Yabucoa.
“This time in drug trafficking, where 67 bundles were dealt with, with a total of 2,000 blocks of cocaine, proves once again that the initiatives set out in the Police Negotiation are being effective and are eradicating drug trafficking to Puerto Rico, as has been our commitment and that of Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia, “he said in Commissioner of Police.
The intervention took place at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, when officers were conducting a preventive maritime patrol.
“FURA agents detected a boat sailing without lights in the direction of the shores of Yabucoa, and this is where they proceed to intervene,” said López Figueroa.
According to the police chief, a short chase was carried out which culminated when the crew ran aground the boat ashore and fled, entering the wooded area in the Black sector in Yabucoa. After checking the interior of the boat, described as a 32-foot-long Eduardoño brand, and with two 250-hp Yamaha engines, officers found the millionaire loading.
