From his native region of Cajamarca, Castell called for the “calm and tranquility of the town”, while his followers set off fireworks and danced in the streets amidst great commotion. .

Castell, a teacher and union leader, added that this “expression of the town” shows that Peruvians “feel identified with a person born from the same village.”
