Presumable US Presidential Supersonic Jet release date: Mach 1.8, twice the speed of sound: first glance

The new US presidential supersonic plane could arrive earlier than expected. It was also rumored to provide new, more advanced features compared to other commercial aircraft and even other fighter aircraft.

According to the latest CNN report, this technology was first unveiled earlier in September 2020 by a California start-up, Exosonic. The company said it is working with the U.S. Air Force to develop a supersonic aircraft, which could also function as an Air Force One aircraft.

The U.S. Presidential and Executive Directorate of Air Transportation (PE) hired Exosonic. The collaboration of the two agencies was formed after Exosonic impressed the US military with its concept of a low-rise supersonic Mach 1.8 twinjet.

To give you more idea, here are the main details you should expect.

The next Exosonic aircraft are expected to be used by the distinguished visitors or DV of the US Executive Brach. Aside from being used as an Air Force One, the giant manufacturer also claimed that it could also be used as an Air Force Two, which is the aircraft used to carry the American vice president.

“With this concept, we are planning to implement new technologies that are not available today or that you are not (yet) seeing on commercial or commercial aircraft,” said Stephanie Chahan, Exosonic’s chief aircraft interior designer.

“So whether they are flying the vice president or the first lady or the first gentleman, we would have a lot of flexibility here,” she added.

Exosonic’s next supersonic aircraft is expected to have a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

Apart from that, you could also use boom smoothing techniques, which could allow you to reach almost twice the speed of sound without making too much noise.

On the other hand, the next advanced aircraft could boast a speed of Mach 1.8, which is about 1,381 kilometers per hour. This means it could be twice as fast as the current cruising speed of a long-distance commercial aircraft.

Exosonic also added that the next US presidential supersonic jet could arrive in 2030.

Is the commercial jet faster?

The new Exosonic aircraft may look promising, but it may not be the fastest commercial jet, as it is rumored that another aircraft will reach five times the speed of sound. The byte previously reported that the U.S. Air Force also hired Hermeus, an aerospace company, to develop a commercial jet that could reach ultra-fast speeds up to Mach 5.
