Prince Charles publishes a photographic tribute to the “beloved pope” to Prince Philip

Prince Charles has published a montage of photographs of almost 100 years of Prince Philip’s life in an emotional tribute to his “beloved pope”.

Charles, heir to the 72-year-old throne in the UK, used his official social media pages Clarence House to share this tribute on Tuesday.

“My dear Pope was a very special person,” he wrote in an Instagram headline, citing his own Saturday speech praising his late father’s “most remarkable and dedicated service.”

In piano music, Charles’ montage began with his father and mother, Queen Elizabeth II, with him and his sister, Princess Anne, when they were both young children.

Many more of the other 37 snapshots used for the video show Philip enjoying tender moments with his family, often making the queen and her children laugh at what grandson Prince William called his “bad mood of the humor “.

Others showed Philip in more formal settings, and Clarence House noted how the late Duke of Edinburgh “partnered with 992 organizations, whether as president, patron, honorary member, or other function” throughout the his life.
