Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face growing outrage over Oprah’s interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced growing criticism on Thursday as their TV special with Oprah Winfrey was scheduled to air even though Prince Philip was recovering from heart surgery, according to a report.

British politicians have joined royal vigilantes in complaining about the broadcast of Sunday’s potentially explosive and damaging interview while Queen Elizabeth II’s 99-year-old husband is in a London hospital.

Despite growing outrage, sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the mail that CBS is responsible for delaying the episode, which is due to air in the United States on Sunday night.

“Ultimately, it depends on CBS, we’re not involved on that side of things,” the source insisted at the exit.

“As it stands, I don’t think the program maker intends to change the broadcast date,” the source said.

Conservative MP Bob Blackman (Bob MP) said in the interview that the interview is simply “inappropriate”.

“Being doing a revealing interview in the UK when he’s in the hospital … is badly advised, to put it mildly.

“None of these royal interviews have gone well … and I can’t see that going any better,” he said.

He said ITV in the UK should not air the episode.

“Everyone’s sympathies should be for the queen, a remarkable lady who has given a lifetime of service,” he said.

Another MP, who refused to be appointed, also seized the departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex: “One day, I hope these two find out what it’s really like to have problems.”

Meanwhile, royal sources previously told the Telegraph that the family is focusing on Philip’s well-being and not the interview.

“The family is very worried about him and their thoughts are very much in his favor instead of this interview with Oprah. They have much more important things to worry about,” a source told the British newspaper.

CBS did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
