Prince Harry and William “join forces” to approve the statue of Princess Diana in time to present it in July

Prince Harry and William have reportedly met to approve the statue of Princess Diana in time for the inauguration at Kensington Palace in the summer.

The brothers are said to have signed a final design for the statue to be unveiled on July 1, which would have been the 60th birthday of their late mother.

Sculptors Ian Rank-Broadley, whose portrait of the queen appears on all British coins, are creating the statue to order.

The hope of repairing a rift between the couple comes after the explosive two-hour CBS interview of Harry and Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey last month.

A source told The Sun that Zara Tindall and her husband Mike had been acting as peacemakers between the two for months before Oprah’s interview.

And a source close to the sculptor told The Sun: “They will have been signed by William and Harry, as far as I know.

Prince William is said to be furious at Harry and Meghan’s account of Oprah after filing accusations of racism at the royal family and claiming that a member had increased Archie’s skin color.

The interview came after the Duke of Cambridge became angry at the way the Sussex “insulted” the Queen with a “disrespectful” response to her ban on using the word “royal” in future ventures when they announced that they would abandon royal life.

‘I know he worked closely with the guys and I think it’s going to be amazing. We are lucky to have him as an artist in the UK.

Kensington and Chelsea royal district planners previously approved the statue’s plans even though they were only given their dimensions and location.

Historic England also said the proposal would have no adverse effects on Kensington Palace, which is rated Grade I.

Jane Siddell, inspector of Ancient Monuments for Historic England, wrote earlier: “The proposed art installation is located within the Sunken Garden, an element of early 20th century gardens located just off the east front of the Palace.

“The location has been carefully chosen, with the statue located out of the center on one of the garden paths, near an opening in the hedges.

‘It will be visible to the public by looking at the garden, but the statue will not affect the views of the Palace from or from the Palace, due to its slightly sunken and shielded position.

“There is a tradition of installing statues in Kensington Gardens and around Kensington Palace, for example the statue of King William III south of the palace and Queen Victoria around the round pond. , and the proposed installation follows this tradition “.

I mean we have a shared experience. But we are on different paths.

William insisted the royal family was not “almost a racist family” as he and Kate visited a school in east London to support the youth mental health support service in March.

Sky News reporter Inzamam Rashid asked, “Sir, have you talked to your brother since the interview?”

Prince William replied tenderly, “I have not yet spoken to him, but I have.”

MailOnline has contacted Ian Rank-Broadley and Buckingham Palace to comment.

Queen and Prince Charles were smiling when they first saw each other on Friday after the interview, while Prince Harry was relaxing on a California beach more than 5,000 miles away.

The charming new image of the Queen and Prince Charles enjoying a socially spaced walk was shattered as they engaged in a private engagement at Frogmore on the estate of Monarch Windsor, details of which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The queen, who turns 95 this month, looked radiant. With one of his famous handkerchiefs on his head with a full-length green raincoat and black rubber boots, he smiled and laughed, his hands gloved in his pockets.

Although the last image was captured on a whim, it serves to provide a happy contrast to the events of recent months.

Both the Queen and Charles have been deeply saddened by Harry and Meghan’s exorbitant departure as royal workers and their subsequent emigration to California.

And, as a boring grandmother and father, they were also personally wounded by the bitter and highly harmful accusations that have since been thrown at them and other members of the royal family.

It occurs when Prince Harry was seen on a boardwalk with his dog while settling into the Los Angeles lifestyle after getting two jobs, including the “impact boss” of Silicon Valley.
