Prince Harry looks like his grandfather, Prince Philip, who is thirty years old

With his bushy red beard, blue eyes and cheeky smile, the handsome soldier could be Prince Harry.

But the star of the cover of this vintage cover of Paris Match magazine is actually his grandfather Prince Philip at 36 years old.

Royal photographer Chris Jackson first noticed the striking similarity between the duo after discovering a copy of the 1957 French magazine, featuring the Duke of Edinburgh dressed in the tropical dress of the Blues and Royal, a cavalry regiment of the British army.

Jackson reposted the cover photo over the weekend and wrote, “Today reminded me of that amazing 1957 @parismatch_magazine vintage I purchased a few years ago. I was impressed the moment I saw it. It always reminds me of the unique and historical landmarks that royal photography provides. The cover features a fantastically soft Prince Philip touring with The Queen. “

The photo of Prince Philip is believed to have been colored from a black and white negative, but the Duke’s skin, eye color and facial hair are almost identical to Harry’s. Harry even wore the same uniform, one of the 22 official Dress Orders for Blues and Royals, in 2012, while in the Bahamas as part of a Diamond Jubilee tour.

The cover of the magazine was published the same year that his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, granted Philip the style and title of prince.

Harry is currently in the UK for the first time since leaving the royal family last year. As revealed on page six, she stays with her cousin Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbanks and her son August at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday.

On Monday, Harry paid tribute to his grandfather, who died Friday at age 99, citing his “charm” and “sharp wit,” remembering him as a “barbecue master” and “joke legend.”

Harry ended his statement with “By Mother, By Earth,” the motto of the Royal Marines of the United Kingdom meaning “By Sea, by Land.”
