Prince Harry writes an emotional message to grieving children in a new book

Prince Harry spoke about the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in a prologue to a new book created for children who have lost a father to COVID-19. Harry, who was 12 at the time of his mother’s death, wrote that despite the “hole” a father loses, the memories of them live on forever.

The book, “Hospital by the Hill,” tells the story of a child whose mother died of COVID-19 while working on the front line of the pandemic. The book has been made available to children in the UK for free.

“When I was a little boy, I lost my mother. At that time I didn’t want to believe it or accept it, and it left me a huge hole,” Prince Harry wrote. “I know how you feel and I want to assure you that over time this hole will be filled with so much love and support … when a father or mother goes to heaven, their spirit has been explained to me , his love and memories don’t. ”

“They’re always with you and you can hold them forever.”

Diana, Princess of Wales, died from injuries sustained in a car accident in 1997. The car where Diana was traveling had been chased by the paparazzi who drove the accident.

Chris Connaughton, the book’s author, wrote on the book’s website that “writing about death is difficult,” but that “talking about it can be even harder.” The book was created with the help of mourning specialists in children.

“It’s always hard and horrible to deal with the death of someone you love, losing someone you loved,” Connaughton wrote. “… Whoever you’re thinking of, I hope this story helps make some of the hard, horrible things a little easier.”

The book was published on Friday and was immediately received with praise on Twitter.

“The pain is hard for an adult though [for] a child is unimaginable, ”one user dit. “I lost my sister to COVID and my heart breaks every time I think of her and the pain she endured on her own.”

The Duke of Sussex often speaks fondly of his late mother and has often compared his critical experience in the royal family to that currently lived by his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey a March 7th, said that “the only thing I would always want is for us to be happy” and that Diana would feel “very angry” at how Meghan has been treated since the couple got married in 2018. She attributed her ability and that of Meghan to leave. his royal duties with Diana.

“I brought what my mother left me,” she told Winfrey. “And without that, we wouldn’t have been able to do that, so going back to what my mom would think about it, I think she saw it coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this process.”
