Prince William reportedly helped the Afghan officer escape from Kabul

According to a report, Prince William intervened personally to help an Afghan national army officer and his family escape from Kabul and flee to the United Kingdom.

The Duke of Cambridge and the officer had attended the Royal Sandhurst Military Academy in the United Kingdom together, the Telegraph reports.

The 39-year-old prince listened to the officer’s struggles to get to Kabul airport with his family of more than ten people amid last week’s chaotic mass evacuations.

The officer and his family, including women and children, were eligible to be evacuated by British troops because he had helped British troops land in Afghanistan throughout the war.

Prince William enlisted the help of his senior member, Lieutenant Commander Dixon, to help locate the Afghan officer.
