The Provincial Court of Zamora has condemned three years in prison to a man for sell gastric pills as a medication to cause abortions through the WhatsApp application already clients with whom I contacted via the Internet. The defendant, of initials LAJ, had created alongside a second person, sentenced to the same sentence in a previous trial, a network to illegally sell this drug that caused the death of the fetus as a side effect, according to the proven facts acknowledged this Tuesday by the defendant.
The agreement between the parties has reduced in one year of imprisonment the sentence initially requested by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for acts classified as a crime against public health.
The drug sales network for the duodenal ulcer as an abortion product worked between September 2015 and December 2016, after the two convicts had taken over this illegal business after receiving from a Colombian citizen in Spain who left him on returning there.
During this time the convicts performed about a hundred sales of the drug obtaining an economic profit, since they sold each pill to fifteen euros, when in pharmacies they have a price of 25 cents per unit.

The woman confessed that she had bought the pills over the Internet and from the hospital they informed the prosecutor’s office, which began an investigation that led police to dismantle the illegal business and to arrest the two convicted of the facts.
Prosecution sources have explained that most of the network’s customers were women from South American countries living in Spain to whom the pills were sent by courier after contacting the telephone numbers of the two convicts.
In addition to the prison sentence, the man has been sentenced to pay a fine of 1,080 euros, Twelve months fine at a rate of three euros per day, a sentence similar to that imposed in January, also in accordance with the other member of the network.
In the trial in which the sentence of conformity was reached this Tuesday, the defendant and his lawyer appeared by videoconference, a system through which he acknowledged the facts and his lawyer asked that he not have to enter prison.
