Raúl Melara has reiterated that 3 suspects arrested in the case are reported, where two people died.
“The information I handle so far is that one of the people involved is from the Division for the Protection of Important Personalities (PPI) assigned to the Ministry of Health (MINSAL), the other is a motorist from MINSAL, and there is a third party who is a prominent private security agent in the MINSAL, “said Attorney General Raúl Melara on Monday in relation to those arrested for the attack on FMLN militants perpetrated on Sunday.
According to Melara, in the attack “more than having lost the lives of two supporters of a political party, two Salvadorans died yesterday, it is something we should all regret.”
The prosecutor confirmed that at the moment there are three people who are under arrest and two more in the process of being arrested. He also said they categorize this case as a bit confusing as there are injuries on both sides of the case.

Melara has detailed that this Monday morning a new inspection was made at the scene; he also said that a search was being carried out at the facilities attached to the Ministry of Health where the blue vehicle is parked, from which three people who were involved in the altercation got off.
“We are doing some other kind of diligence that will allow us to know what happened,” he noted.
“Right now we are categorizing it as an act of intolerance, obviously we are under an era of political campaigning, but we want to see it as a fact of intolerance that should not go further,” he reasoned.
The prosecutor gave statements at the end of the meeting with the leaders of the various political parties, in which there was no representation of New Ideas. The official said he did not know the reasons for the absence of this political institute, as he assured that “everyone was invited.”
