Today’s newspaper consulted the authorities of the political institute and in this regard, Aldo Alvarez, national secretary of communications of the party stated categorically that food packages are not for CD.

“Strongly I tell you that this was not an activity of the CD, we ourselves have criticized in the past that they walk around giving things to buy votes, the less we do, in addition, they are packages that are for people and come from public money and have nothing to do in election campaigns, “Alvarez said.

According to him, they rent a part of the property that appears in the video for CD headquarters and share the parking lot with other offices that also rent the rest of the space to an NGO that owns the complete infrastructure.

“In fact the premises of us has been closed, I presume it must be an activity that has to do with a Veterans Association, we share the parking lot and sometimes when the journalists have arrived we go to the parking roof for the width , the (CD) venue is small, “Alvarez argued.

He added that on the side of the premises there are about 4 more offices and that the CD only rents a part that is in the background. “The side is rented to a veterans association,” he explained.

In a thread of tweets published on behalf of Teleprensa is another video in which a gentleman appears explaining that they own a place at one of the CD party.

“This is the CD office, there says welcome CD and this is our office here, this is our office, we started and we don’t charge even 5, so you guys here won’t see any propaganda yet, but we will have our banners and they will see our chairs and desks, because we do not charge anything to the veterans, we are poor and we will remain poor, but they must have their benefits, ”the gentleman who speaks in the video assured.

“At the premises on 5th Street West is identified with the colors of the CD, but the Veterans Common Good Unification Board assured that it rents a space on the site and the food packages are for them,” he said. says the Teleprensa tweet that accompanies the video.

Then in another Teleprensa tweet, the same gentleman in the video explains that in the premises they rent are “united the historic FMLN and the military” who fought in the war, “here we do our meetings, on the 31st (January) we are going to celebrate Veterans Day by legislative agreement and that is why we are asking for help, no government had helped us, ”the war veteran noted.

The above comes a day after the CD endorsed its support as a party to the candidacy of the former Minister of the Interior, Mario Durán, who is running for mayor of San Salvador for the New Ideas party.
