According to the official PlayStation Status website, some parts of PSN do not work and have problems. More specifically, the PlayStation Status website reports that Sony is aware that PS5, PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita gamers have “difficulty launching games, apps, and networking features.” And, according to the help page, these problems have been going on for several hours and right now it is not known when they will be resolved.
Although the social and gaming elements of PSN have issues, all other aspects of PSN (Account Management, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Music, and PlayStation Direct) work normally, but reports starting at problems with buying and downloading games on PlayStation Store.
At the time of publication, it is not clear what the prevalence of the problem is or what the problem is and, as noted, it is also not clear when a solution will be published. Normally, these issues resolve quickly, however, this has been happening for several hours at the moment, which may suggest that it’s a bigger issue that Sony may need more time to address.
That said, this is a developing story, so we’ll be sure to update it as the official updates come in. At this time, none of the official PlayStation social media accounts have addressed the issues, so updates are unlikely to arrive this way, but the PlayStation Status website is in real time and will provide these updates. .
