Queen Elizabeth urges those not vaccinated to “think of other people” after receiving Covid Jab

Queen Elizabeth II has urged people to take the coronavirus vaccine after receiving the sting herself.

There are several vaccines on offer in the UK and millions have already accepted the offer to get the punch.

But the current monarch has tried to calm fears that could be dangerous by giving him his personal experience to get the vaccine.

The 94-year-old man appeared in a video call with NHS officials in charge of deploying and delivering the vaccination.

The queen said to them, “It’s a bit like a plague, isn’t it? Because not only do we have the virus here, it’s everywhere. Once you have the vaccine, you feel like you’re protected … from what I can tell, it went be quite harmless.

“It was very fast and I received a lot of letters from people who have been very surprised at how easily the vaccine was obtained.”

But then it was aimed at people who have not received the vaccine and who do not plan to get the puncture.

“Obviously, it’s hard for people if they’ve never had a vaccine, they should think of other people than themselves,” he said.

“I think it’s remarkable how quickly the whole process has been done and so many people have already had the vaccine.”

The queen added, “It didn’t hurt at all.”

The UK set an ambitious goal of vaccinating at least 15 million people from four key groups by 15 February and achieved this feat.

The plan was to ensure that all people over the age of 70 and clinically vulnerable had at least one dose of vaccine, in addition to offering vaccines to all residents of a nursing home and front-line health workers and social assistance.

It is also possible that some people outside the four main priority groups have also received a dose, with the goal of stopping missing doses.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock issued a statement when the goal was reached, saying: “I am very proud of the team: we have achieved this fantastic milestone in our battle against COVID-19. In less than in ten weeks we have captured over 15 million people across the UK.

“This is one in four adults who are now beginning to receive protection from this terrible disease.”

“This success is thanks to the incredible efforts of front-line NHS workers, vaccine volunteers, the armed forces and everyone working in local and central government. The deployment of vaccines shows what our country can achieve by working together.

“There is so much more to do and I urge anyone eligible to step forward and take up their appointment. The vaccine is our path to freedom: we will be overcoming this virus jab by jab.”

Hancock hopes that advances in virus and vaccine treatment could turn Covid-19 into a “treatable disease” by the end of 2021.
