Raleigh police who investigated reported shootings at the Crabtree Valley Mall

RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) – Raleigh police responded to a shooting at Crabtree Valley Mall on Thursday night during an intense shopping season.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at the mall shortly after 8:45 p.m., almost an hour before the popular mall closed.

As of 11 p.m., the entrance to Glenwood Avenue into the mall is currently blocked. Police and paramedics set up a scenery area outside the entrance to the Macy Mall.

Sean Ingram, owner of a kiosk in the mall, told ABC11 that he heard eight shots of Bath and Body Works. Another employee of the restaurant in the dining area said he “heard a lady screaming but saw nothing.”

“Once it all started to happen, shots were coming at my kiosk and you could feel them bouncing against the walls,” Ingram said. “It’s just an unfortunate situation.”

Raleigh police said there is no active shooter and believe the people involved knew each other. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
