Rams expected Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp to play against the Packers

The Green Bay Packers are unlikely to get any injuries when the Los Angeles Rams arrive at Lambeau Field for Saturday’s NFC Divisional Round game.

Sean McVay, Rams coach he said on Sunday he expects defensive lineman Aaron Donald and wide receiver Cooper Kupp to play against the Packers despite further injuries.

The Rams upset the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, but both Donald (ribs) and Kupp (knee) left the game and did not return. McVay labeled both as day-to-day and expressed confidence in both of them ’ability to play against the Packers in the next round of the playoffs.

Donald hurt his ribs as he faced Russell Wilson in the second half. Kupp retired at the end of a play at the end of the fourth quarter.

Donald is twice NFL Defensive Player of the Year and the most disturbing defensive lineman in the game. A first-team All-Pro for the sixth straight season, Donald produced 13.5 sacks, 27 quarterback hits and four forced fights in 16 games in 2020.

Kupp, the Rams ’top receiver, grabbed 92 passes for 974 yards and three touchdowns this season.

The Rams have yet to decide who will play quarterback on Saturday. McVay has to choose between Jared Goff, who is in a thumb injury, and John Wolford, who was eliminated from Saturday’s win with a score. While the quarterback situation seems complicated, the Rams would get a big boost at Lambeau Field if Donald and Kupp can play.

It is unclear how the elements of Green Bay, including the cold, would affect the Rams ’injury situation.

The Rams will not release any injury reports until later this week. The game’s official injury designations will not be available until Friday.
