Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said he was harassed by a “Karen” at the gym because he refused to wear a mask on the treadmill.
“The other day I was on the treadmill and some Karen are going to tell people she’s on a treadmill and running without a mask,” Paul teased. during an interview with Tucker Carlson Friday. “Is this the world we will live in, where everyone denounces everyone and the Gestapo will come to arrest you?”
Paul used the apparition to also attack Anthony Fauci, who is now President Biden’s chief medical adviser. Paul accused the doctor of lying about the risks of spreading the disease to immune populations in order to promote compliance with the mask in general.
“There is no news or scientific studies to indicate that after vaccination, there is some kind of widespread contagion that vaccinated people are spreading the disease,” Paul said. “What Fauci will not tell you is that he will tell you a noble lie. He’s lying to you because he doesn’t think we’re smart enough to make decisions. Their fear is that if the vaccinated stop wearing the mask, the unvaccinated will say what the hell I don’t wear a mask either ”.
Like a large number of his colleagues and Washington officials, Rand Paul is a coronavirus survivor and hires him in April 2020.
Fauci has rebuked Paul, telling him Thursday in a Senate hearing that the masks were not “theater.”
“When you talk about reinfection and you don’t include the concept of variants, it’s a completely different ball game, it’s a good reason for a mask,” Fauci I told him.
